Verona -  (8 hrs)

Transfer by water taxi from your hotel to venice mainland terminal. Departure from Venice with your private driver and travel for approx. 1 hour and half before you reach Verona.

Lying on the banks of the River Adige, Verona is one of Italy’s most charming cities, known as the “Rome of Nothern Italy” for its amazing amount of Roman remains like the Arena amphitheatre, the Roman Theatre, the Gavi Arch and the Ponte Pietra stone bridge . During Medieval ages the city was also enriched by its long-term rulers Della Scala family with unique monuments such as the Castelvecchio massive building.

As you start your walking tour you will get stricken by the amazing “Arena” amphitheatre built by the Romans in the 1st century AD, once capable of 30.000 spectators and nowadays hosting Opera performances during the summer. Walk along Via Mazzini, the shopping street leading to charming Piazza delle Erbe and Piazza della Signoria both surrounded by elegantly decorated buildings. Tou will also get a chance to see the “Arche Scaligere” tombs of the Scaligeri family (exterior) and the 13th century Juliet’s house and its pretty balcony and statue (exterior)

Free time for lunch and shopping will be decided once on the spot.

Return to Venice in the afternoon.
