Day 1. Landing in Milano, meet your local tour escort and be transferred to your hotel in Milano within 5 minutes walk from Teatro La Scala and the Duomo. After the check in, you have time at leisure to unpack and get ready for your aperitif in Verdi’s suite, at the Grand hotel & de Milan, followed by a welcome dinner in the same suite.
Day 2. After a lavish breakfast, meet your guide at the hotel for a guided visit featuring Bramante Chapel in San Satiro’s Church, followed by a visit to the Duomo, its treasure, its rooftop. Afterwards you will walk through Milano’s smartest shopping area and maybe stop a one of its historic cafés before boarding your coach for the short drive to the old Navigli Area, whose waterways once navigable are now the picturesque setting to Milanese lively nightlife. Lunch will be at one of Milano oldest restaurants (El Brellin or similar). After lunch a timed admission is reserved for you to Laboratori Ansaldo. These are the huge workshops where costumes and scenes are crafted for La Scala Opera and Ballet Productions. The
evening is free
Day 3. The morning is devoted to the visit to Pinacoteca Ambrosiana offering another example of Bramante’s Art in his sacristy and the Leonardo’s Atlantic Code, apart from a host of invaluable paintings and works of art. After an independent lunch, a timed admission is reserved for you to Leonardo’s Cenacolo in Santa Maria delle Grazie. Afterwards,
the visit continues to the house for retired musicians, built for Giuseppe Verdi. In the inner court of the Casa di
Riposo Verdi, the Maestro resting place can be visited.
19.30 SIMON BOCCANEGRA at Teatro La Scala
Day 4.Today we leave heading to Busseto, roughly a 90’ drive to the east for a guided visit on Giuseppe Verdi’s footsteps. The visit will focus on the Maestro life and will include his beloved Villa Verdi in Sant’Agata, still owned
by his heirs to this day, his birthplace in Roncole and Salone Barezzi in Busseto. Lunch will be at the restaurant I Due Foscari in Busseto, owned by the Tenor Bergonzi’son, just next to Teatro Verdi, that you will visit after lunch, before heading to the airport to connect with your flight home. Or continue to your next destination.
