Start your journey in Lviv – the most popular city of Western Ukraine. See the most important castles of the region, enjoy Ukrainian Carpathians and explore places that still hold the traces of Hungarian influence. You will then head to

Hungary, discover its medieval heritage, fascinating architecture and end your journey in Budapest – a city that is headlining the lists of most popular sights in Eastern Europe.

Listen to the legends wrapped in mystery, interact with the locals and get a glimpse of their daily ways of life. This journey will leave you with an incredible insight into the history and culture of this region. See where they merge and what effect they had on modern day Ukraine and Hungary. DAY 1 Lviv arrival

Arrival, meeting and transfer to a hotel.

DAY 2 Lviv sightseeing

During our walking tour we will see the architecture of Rynok Square, typical Austrian streets, as well as faceless Soviet-era buildings and modern dwellings. Together they narrate Lviv's glorious history.

Highlights of this tour include visits of the Opera House, built in the classical tradition with Neo-Renaissance details. You will walk around the Medieval part of Lviv – the Market Square and the old quarters around it with visits to a few impressive churches and cathedrals. Your lunch will be served in a place where you can be inspired for new ideas! (B)

DAY 3 Lviv – Olesko – Pidgirci – Zolochiv – Ternopil

Early morning breakfast and check-out we start our trip with a tour to the so called Golden Horseshoe of Lviv. We will visit the medieval Olesko Castle, one of the most ancient in Galicia, the castle in Pidhirtsi, which is one of the European best examples of the Renaissance palace and the Zolochiv castle, the construction of which served as a fortress, a royal residence, a landlord's farmstead, a jail and even as an educational institution. Continue to Ternopil. (B)

DAY 4: Ternopil - Kamianets-Podilskyi

Morning drive by comfortable van to Kamianets-Podilskyi, after lunch you will enjoy a walking tour around the old historical part of the city. Our tour will be full of mystery, showing peculiar turns in city history from the moment of the town’s foundation till recent times. The highlight will for sure be a visit to the Kamianets-Podilskyi fortress. (B)

DAY 5: Kamianets-Podilskyi - Khotyn - Chernivtsi

After breakfast we drive to Chernivtsi with sightseeing on the way. First stop – Khotyn fortress, which was founded in the 13th century and where one of the main battles for Europe with Ottoman Empire had taken place.

Then we drive to Chernivtsi. There we enjoy the richness of the old Austro-Hungarian architectural ensemble. On our tour we will walk through cobblestoned streets and squares of the old town, usually called “Small Vienna”, and finish our trip in the heart of the city – mesmerizing complex of the National University. DAY 6: Chernivtsi - Kolomyia - Ivano-Frankivsk - Bukovel

We drive to the Carpathians and on the way we’ll learn about local culture and traditions of Hutsuls, Boikos, Lemkos and other ethnic groups from this part of Ukraine. In Kolomyia we’ll visit the only museum in the world dedicated to pysanka – the Ukrainian Easter egg. We will also make a stop in Ivano-Frankivsk - the capital of Precarpathia, which is considered to be the soul of modern Ukrainian cultural and literary life. We continue to Bukovel – the best mountain resort of Ukrainian Carpathians. (B)

DAY 7: Bukovel – Verkhovyna – Bukovel

This day is dedicated to the mountains and its people – Нutsuls. You will see traditional mountain villages, find out about people who live there: Ukrainian ethnical group – Hutsuls. We will visit the Hutsul Everyday Life and musical instruments museum, and will hear about Ukrainian embroidery and its different meanings in the unique museum of Vyshyvanka. A home-made lunch will be served in a private house of one of the museum's owners to let you feel the life of locals. (B)

DAY 8: Bukovel – Mukachevo – Uzhgorod

We continue our journey through the mountains, with sightseeing on the way.

The first stop will be near the monument of Geographic Center of Europe, then in Nyzhnje Selyshche village, where you will visit a private cheese dairy and eco farm, and taste different types of cheese being made according to Swiss technology. Continue to Iza village – the “capital” of vine’s wickerwork, and the so-called “richest gipsy village ever”, called Nyzhnya Apsha.

After that, we go to Mukachevo town to see the main highlight of the day – Palanok castle, which rises majestically over the town, ready to share its secrets with you. (B)

DAY 9: Uzhgorod (Ukraine) – Miskolc (Hungary)

In the morning walk along embankment of the river Uzh and explore this very multicultural city step by step. We will start in an architecturally strict district of Czhekoslovakian period of 1930s. Then continue in Austro-Hungarian Middletown of the 19th century and finish our tour in the old medieval town with a castle, which is considered to be one of the oldest in the region, having the history of over 1000 years.

After lunch continue to Hungary.

Our first big city will be Miskolc, a very important cultural and business center of the country, but very ancient and cozy at same time. (B)

DAY 10: Miskolc – Eger – Miskolc

We start with a walk to the old town of Miskolc and a visit of the castle. After that we’ll go to another medieval town of Eger, which is considered to be the capital of Hungarian baroque. The tour to Eger fortress will tell you about the courage of Hungarians in their struggle with Turks. Going further through the cobblestoned streets and squares of old town together with the charming sounds of main organ in Central Cathedral will totally immerse you in that medieval epoch. (B)

DAY 11: Miskolc – Godollo – Budapest

After breakfast we drive to Budapest. We stop on the way to take a look at the amazing Royal Palace of Godollo, the residence of Austro-Hungarian emperors. Extremely big and magnificent, surrounded by an enormous park, this residence still keeps the spirit of that exceptional era in Hungarian history. (B)

DAY 12: Budapest sightseeing

Touring the city, which is also often called “Paris of the East”.

Actually there are still two cities – Buda on the western bank of the Danube and Pest on the eastern. You can still notice the differences between them, while observing the architectural ensemble of both parts, and learning the story of how it became one capital for the whole country. We will stopover all of its highlights – The House of Parliament, Royal Palace, Fisherman's Bastion, State Opera House, Central Market Hall and many-many others. We will also walk through the Buda Castle Quarter and Andrassy Avenue, which rightfully belong to the UNESCO world cultural heritage. (B)

DAY 13: Budapest sightseeing

Enjoy a free day for shopping and leisure in the Hungarian capital. (B,D)
