Full day Excursion to Blaye

Around 8:30, meet and greet your group in La Rochelle, at the footbridge of the Celebrity Infinity.

Direct departure southbound to Blaye, and discovery of the vineyard included in the new appellation “Cotes de Bordeaux”.

The road between La Rochelle and Blaye will permit you to discover the “Charente”, a very preserved area of France, with beautiful landscapes, until you will arrive along the Gironde estuary. The vineyards of Blaye are on the right bank of the estuary, facing the Medoc vineyards, from which they are separated by the 4 km wide estuary in this place.

In the morning, visit and wine tasting at a wine Estate, situated on one of the best sites on the limestone escarpment of Blaye.

The proximity to the Gironde Estuary, clay/limestone soils, and free-draining, south-facing slopes all combine to make a benevolent microclimate for maturing their grapes. The combination of great terroir and meticulous winemaking produces wines of a consistently high quality year on year, recognised by a long track record of awards.

Lunch at the wine estate.

In the afternoon, transfer to Blaye ; the city itself offers a beautiful citadel from the 17th century, which was built on ancient roman and medieval castles.

It remained in an exceptional state of preservation and you will visit it, whilst discovering more than 2000year history.

Transfer back to the Celebrity Infinity by 6pm.

Full day Excursion to Cognac

After breakfast, meet with your clients at the footbridge of your ship.

Direct transfer to Cognac.

In the morning, departure to Cognac (1,5 hour driving from La Rochelle)

This peaceful little town, which was the birthplace of King François I, is the cradle of the fine brandy that bears its name. The buildings around the famous cellars have been darkened over the years by the microscopic fungi that thrive on the alcohol fumes.

The town lies on the banks of the Charente River from which it draws its origin but also its prosperity.

Upon arrival at 10am, you will be welcomed in the heart of the historical House of “Remy Martin” where you will discover the secrets of the heritage and the know-how of that famous brandy,.

You will taste different Cognacs, with some gastronomic snacks, and will discover the main cellars of the mansion.

Lunch at restaurant La Courtine in Cognac. This former open-air dance hall in a park is located on the banks of the Charente River and will welcome you in a warm, wood decor. It offers a traditional cuisine.

After the lunch, , visit of the « Museum of the Arts of Cognac » which is installed near the banks of the Charente River and which is dedicated to the Art of making Cognac. You will understand its economic importance thanks to the association of various trades and techniques: wine-growing, distillation, glassmaking, cooperage… Transfer back to La Rochelle, where you will arrive by 4pm.
