Exclusive! Whole day cruise and island walk on Luxury Authentic Chinese Junk “Oriental Dragon”

Our partner operates for our clients many special excursions.

1. Luxury Chinese junk “Oriental Dragon”, and we we can nightly host our clients on our evening cocktail Symphony of lights cruise exclusively operated by Jetway.

2. Every Sunday Jetway operates a walking tour on the unspoilt  Tung Lung Island as per the program.

09:00 AM :

Embark on the luxury Chinese junk “Oriental Dragon” at the Tsim Sha Tsui pier. Crossing of the Hong Kong harbour, then turning left, the trip eastward will take one hour. The junk will follow the northern coast of Hong Kong island, allowing a nice view on the buildings and on the mountains at the back on your right, and on Kowloon, the old airport and Lei Yue Mun on your left. Then the junk turns towards north and follows the east coastline of Tung Lung Chau (which means “island of the Dragon of the East”).

10:00 AM :

Arrive at the pier of Nam Tong village on Tung Lung where we disembark. Tung Lung is a small rounded-shape island situated at the tip of the Clearwater Bay peninsula. The main interest of this island is the wilderness of nature with some rough hills.

10:00 – 11:30 AM :

8km Walk around the island on concrete paths securely marked winding up and down in all directions. The top of the island culminates at 240m, and everywhere we can enjoy a peaceful quiet natural environment,  just at the doorstep of the polluted noisy city!

In addition to walking and rock climbing, and apart the beauty of the sceneries and panoramas – don’t miss the magnificent view on the channel separating the island from the Tsing Shui Wan peninsula, other points of interest of the island are exclusively cultural.

At about 1km north-east from Nam Tong can be found an archeological site on the emplacement of an ancient FORT, an old watching tower dating from the 17th century; on-site now can be seen only the foundations of the old construction, the rest having been taken away to be exhibited in various Hong Kong’s  museums.   North-west  of  the  island can be visited an antic site of Carved Stones dating back some 3000 years.

12:00 – 12:30 PM :

Visit of “the Great Temple”, situated at Joss House Bay on the other side of the island. This buddhist temple has been built by the villagers in the 13th century to worship Tin Hau, the Goddess of the sea and of the fishermen. This is the oldest and the most revered Tin Hau temple in Hong Kong; fishermen, sailors and merchants used to come here and pray for their safety at sea but also for good fortune and wealth. On one side of the building stands a banyan, the “Wishing Tree”, and on the other can be seen the “Precious Stones”, carved stones used for the ceremonies. In March each year colorful feasts and sea celebrations are being held. The temple has been restored by the Government’s Antiquities and Monuments Conservation Service 15 years ago.

The only industry of the island is fishing and fish farming, and large live fish tanks can be seen floating directly at sea.

12:30 PM : Embark on the junk for transfer to Lei Yue Mun.

13:00 – 14:30 PM :

Stop at the LEI YUE MUN fishing village for a fresh seafood Chinese meal. After lunch, walk around the small lanes and the fish market of this typical village of traditional fishing people.

15:00 PM :

Return and disembark at Tsim Sha Tsui pier
