Air/Hotel packages for Caribbean and Mexico and North America
All prices are not guaranteed until put on hold. Within 30 days, credit card needed to guarantee reservation. Most of the payments are processed by the tour operator that is used to book your vacation package. You will be notified upon confirmation which tour operator is used.
First two quotes are given without fee. If the price is acceptable, please provide your names as appear in the passports including dates of birth of children. Once the booking is confirmed, the deposit is needed within 48 hours to guarantee the reservation. If the payment is not received within 48 hours, reservation will expire. Final payment is due within 45 or 60 days before departure depending on tour operator. We will advice you about deposit amount for your reservation and final payment date at the time of booking.
If you want us to continue checking many different options, we require Plan to Go Deposit/Research fee $250, applicable to booking. Otherwise, we will give you online research link or sample itineraries on our website and you can research yourself and come back to us when you are ready to book.
For packages which include scheduled air booking, the payment for air tickets is required within 24 hours.
Payment can be done by credit card. Click here to print credit card authorization form, this form must be mailed to us or faxed. If you are traveling outside of 45 days, we can accept cashier check or money order or personal check.
Documents arrive approximately 2-3 weeks before departure and will be forwarded to you either priority or express mail. In case of late bookings, we will fax you a copy of the voucher and original documents will be picked up at the airport.
Vary per tour operator, but most of the time it is non-refundable within 45 days. Travel cancellation insurance is strongly recommended. Please contact us for Travel Insurance information. Many tour operators have their own cancellation insurance which is not expensive and you can cancel for any reason, not just medical emergency. Some of them return money, but some, for example, Apple Vacations, just keep the credit and you can re-use the trip within the year.
The majority of air packages to Mexico and Caribbean are on charter airline. That will vary depending on where you are departing from and your destination. Our tour operators use different carriers for charter flights, in addition to other major airlines available when you choose scheduled air service. Some examples are Allegro Airlines, Canada 3000, Sun Country, UPS airlines, Ryan International Airlines.
The term "charter" refers to aircraft used specifically to transport tour operator customers to major sun destinations. Charter flights are generally non-stop and less expensive, and you have more time to enjoy the destination instead of traveling to get there. Most charter flights also offer complimentary in-flight beverages. Another benefit is that your luggage will be removed quickly from the aircraft and will be ready to board your resort transfer once you arrive, it makes your vacation experience the best possible, by managing the charter process from the time you check in at the airport, until you arrive at your resort. The tour operator representatives meet the flight and assist with transfers. Usually charters fly for 3,4,5,7 nights, so you might to adjust your schedule in order to get better price and non-stop flights. Please note: we cannot assign seats for the charter flights.
"Scheduled Air" refers to the transportation portion of your vacation that includes major airlines with schedules at various times and days of the week. Apple Vacations offers scheduled air packages to those destinations where we do not offer charter service; and also to complement our charter schedules to those destinations where we do offer charter service but need additional seats due to demand. Scheduled air packages give you the most flexibility in departure and arrival times when traveling to a destination.
Proof of citizenship is your responsibility. BOARDING WILL BE DENIED WITHOUT PROPER VERIFICATION OF CITIZENSHIP. Current requirements for US citizens traveling to Caribbean and Mexico are: either a valid US Passport or a state issued birth certificate with a raised seal and a valid, government-issued, photo ID (such as a driver's license). Voter registration cards and baptismal/hospital certificates are not acceptable. Travelers to Margarita Island and Costa Rica including children must show a valid US Passport only. Persons born outside of the US should contact their local consulate or embassy before they travel for exact citizenship requirements.
Married women must provide original marriage certificate to document change from maiden to married name. Failure to comply will deny boarding. If you just got married and still have passport with your maiden name, it is better to have ticket under maiden name.
U.S. Citizens traveling within United States require only a valid government issued photo ID (i.e. drivers license). If you are not a U.S. citizen, contact the embassy for the country to which you are traveling to be advised of proper proof of citizenship.
For other part of the world, passport is required.
Special requirements for children traveling without both parents. Some countries, for example, Mexico and Dominican Republic, require by law that children under 18 traveling without both parents must have a notarized letter from the non-accompanying parent or parents stating that they have given consent for the child to leave the country. If one parent is deceased, a copy of death certificate is necessary. Failure to comply will result in denied boarding.
Scheduled airline passengers are required to contact the airline within 72 hours before departure and prior to your return flight to reconfirm the flight schedule. Charter passengers are supposed to call phone number given before departure at the day of departure, at resort check the information board at hotel lobby or contact your tour operator representative.
Scheduled airline tickets are the responsibility of he person traveling. If, for any reason, you should lose your ticket, you may have to purchase a new ticket at your expense. Upon return home, contact your travel agent to begin procedures for completing an airline "Lost Ticket Application". Any refunds made by the airline will be based on the value of the original ticket issued and in most cases the purchased ticket will be more expensive.
Each person, including infants, is allowed a maximum of two bags not to exceed 44lbs in weight. Carry-on luggage is limited to one bag per person and must be small enough to fit beneath the seat in front of you. Large items, in lieu of or in addition to the two bags, plus size and shape of carry-on luggage permitted is at each airline discretion. Carry-on luggage should remain with you at all times. Any lost a damaged checked luggage must be immediately reported to an airline representative. Please do not leave the airport terminal until you have completed a claim form.
Hotel check-in is normally 3pm. You may want to pack a bathing suite or change of clothing in your carry on luggage. Also please note that many hotels require a cash deposit or credit card imprint upon check-in to cover any incidental charges to your room. The exact check-out time varies by hotel. Contact your tour representative or call your transfer company for exact details for your return airport transfer. Be sure to allow enough time for finalizing any personal expenses with the hotel cashier. There are usually hospitality suites at hotel which allow you to use facilities after you checked out of your room.
Other tips to make your vacation successful
In Mexico, Dominican Republic it is not advised to drink tap water. Purified water is available at resort and bottled water is provided. We even recommend to brush your teeth with bottled water. Better be safe then sorry!
Language - in Mexico and Dominican Republic the Spanish is the official language and is spoken widely in tourist areas. Tour guides and desk personnel speak some English. To make communication easier, bring a Spanish phrase book or use pocket translators.
Remember, you are not in USA and the things might be slower then you are used to. After all, you are on vacation, relax and have fun!
