Weston Manor

Weston on the Green, OX6 8QL
REGION: South of England    COUNTRY: England

Description:
Weston Manor has been the showpiece of the lovely village of Weston-on-the-Green, near Oxford, since the 11th century. The ancestral home of the Earls of Abington and Berkshire, and once the property of King Henry VIII, the imposing stone mansion is set in 13 acres of gardens, and has been sympathetically restored as a unique country house hotel of character. The present Baronial Hall was the bailiffs court for the Abbott of Osney who owned the house before the Dissolution of the Monasteries by Henry VIII. Now guests can have an award winning (Two AA Rosettes) candlelit dinner in the Baronial Hall where delectable cuisine and classic wines are offered. Local produce is emphasised, prepared with care and imagination. AA "3 Star".

Location:
6 miles north of Oxford, 2 miles from Junction 9 on the M40.

Room Bedding:
36 bedrooms with two four poster bedrooms and one suite. Many of the charming bedrooms have antique furniture and all have garden views.

Activities:
The Manor's relaxing atmosphere is complemented by a squash court, croquet lawn and a heated outdoor swimming pool in the summer months. The Manor is also a peaceful retreat for visitors discovering the delights of Oxford, Blenheim Palace, Woodstock and Stratford upon Avon.
