Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrive Paris, France
Tour departs: Charles de Gaulle Airport one hour after the arrival of our selected flight(s). Say bon jour to France, and set off on a journey to discovery one of its loveliest and most historic areas. Our France tour stops in Giverny, the home of legendary Impressionist artist, Claude Monet, en route to the charming resort town of Deauville. Meet the new friends who will share this journey through Normandy with you at our welcome dinner tonight.

Day 2 – Explore the French Countryside
Experience the rural side of Normandy with a visit to a working dairy farm. See how delicious French cheese is made and taste a sample during lunch in a half-century-old manor house. Take an optional excursion to historic, picturesque Honfleur.

Day 3 – See D-day Beaches and Mont-Saint-Michel
Journey back in time to June 7, 1944, the day that marked a significant turning point in World War II – Operation Overlord, the Allied invasion of Europe.. Walk on these famous beaches and learn what happened on that fateful day as you visit the Peace Memorial and the Normandy American Cemetery. Continue on to magical Mont-Saint-Michel, a magnificent abbey cut off from the mainland each day when the tide comes in.

Day 4 – Take the TGV Train to Paris and Dine in the Eiffel Tour
Take the high-speed TGV train to beautiful Paris, one of Europe’s most glittering capital cities. See some of the best known of the city’s landmarks en route to your hotel. Have dinner high up in the Eiffel Tour tonight and gaze down at the lights of Paris spread out below you.

Day 5 – Visit Musée du Louvre and Cruise the River Seine
See the Mona Lisa during a guided tour of Musée du Louvre, as well as some of the other art treasures that also reside there. The charming sights of Paris glide past you during a special luncheon cruise along the River Seine. Enjoy the rest of the day poking around and exploring more of Paris on your own.

Day 6 – Experience Paris From the Depths to the Heights
Begin the day in undoubtedly the creepiest place in Paris. Journey down under the city to tour the Catacombs, which is said to be the final resting place of millions of skeletons. Then, mark your way to soaring Notre Dame, with its spires reaching toward the heavens. This combination of experiences is unique to this Tauck Bridges France tour. At the Cathedral, go with an expert guide to see the gloriously colored Rose Window, a flock of gargoyles hovering above and Quasimodo’s favorite bell, the mighty Bourdon. Join us for a farewell dinner on the Champs-Élysées tonight.

Day 7 – Journey home
Tour ends: Charles de Gaulle Airport 2 ½ hours prior to the departure of our selected flight(s). Those departing at other times should secure their own transportation to the airport.

Inclusive Prices


Tour prices are per person in U.S. dollars.

Hotels – All hotel accommodations are included. Two-bedded rooms with private bath are reserved in most hotels. Quadruples and triples are usually a two-bedded room plus one rollaway cot, where available, and are not recommended for comfort. Quadruple accommodations are available only on select itineraries. On some itineraries, rollaway cots may not be available and triple and quadruple accommodations must make use of existing bedding. At some properties in Europe where rooms and beds are small, a triple may be accommodated in a single and double-bedded room. Connecting and adjacent rooms are by request only and are not guaranteed. For safety and security purposes, at time of booking, room accommodations for children under 18 years of age must be made in the same room as an accompanying adult.

Child/Adult Pricing
Children under 18 must be booked in a room with at least one adult. Quadruple accommodations are not available for four persons 18 and older. To qualify for a child discount, the child’s birth date must be provided at time of booking.

Meals – Most meals are included as specified in the itinerary. Meal codes are: B=Breakfast, L=Lunch, D=Dinner

Transportation – All motor coach and rail transportation within the tour are included.

Gratuities Included – All necessary gratuities for luggage handling, bellmen, doormen, dining room servers, housekeepers, local guides, rail crew, drivers and Tauck Directors are included.

Tauck Director – Each France tour is conducted by a Tauck Director who remains with the group throughout the duration of the tour. Your Tauck Director is a professional, fully-trained employee of Tauck.

No Options Sold – With the exception of select options detailed in the itinerary, Tauck’s price includes entertainment, special dinners, sightseeing and most activities. Tauck Directors sometimes assist with information on other free-time activities, but will not sell you any “extras.”

 

Not Included


Airfare to the tour departure point and from the tour ending point is not included. Airfare may be purchased from Tauck for travel originating in the United States.

Hotel Rooms Before or After Tours – Due to time schedules and the possibility of flight delays, many guests prefer to make hotel arrangements for the night preceding their tour. As a service, Tauck will make reservations before or after your France tour upon request. Reservations are on a space available basis and must be booked through Tauck; charges will be added to your tour cost. Note: Airport transfers are not included for these bookings. When traveling with children, ensuring that everyone is well rested at the beginning of any journey adds immeasurably to the joy of the trip. We recommend that you arrive in Paris a day before our France tour begins. We will be happy to make such hotel reservations for your family.

Personal Expenses such as phone calls, room service, alcoholic and bar beverages, mineral waters, soft drinks, laundry, airline excess luggage charges and other optional incidental extras are not included and may be significant.

Luggage Responsibility – Although every effort is made to handle guests’ luggage carefully, we cannot be responsible, assume liability or accept claims for loss or damage to luggage and personal effects due to breakage, theft, or fair wear and tear through hotel, airline or group carrier handling. It is important for your own self-interest and protection that you make certain you have adequate insurance to cover these eventualities.
