Itinerary
Day 1 – See the Glories of
Ancient Rome
Tour departs: Rome’s Leonardo de Vinci Airport
in Fiumicino one hour after the arrival of our selected flight(s).
Welcome to Rome! Walk in the footsteps of the gladiators in the Colosseum and
see the Circus Maximus, where ancient chariot races took place. Throw a coin
into the Trevi Fountain and make a wish. Join us for a welcome dinner tonight.

Day 2 – Explore Vatican
City
Vatican City is full of fascinating history and artistic masterpieces. Tour
magnificent St. Peter’s Basilica and view Michelangelo’s famous ceiling in the
Sistine Chapel – which the artist originally resisted doing because he
considered himself a sculptor, not a painter.

Day 3 –Experience Medieval
Orvieto
While in Italy tour charming Orvieto to explore its Etruscan roots and medieval
past. Discover what lies under the city in the amazing Orvieto Underground.

Day 4 – Discover the Art
and History of Florence
Visit the Galleria dell’Accademia, to see Michelangelo’s David. At the Palazzo
Vecchio, meet a 15th -century resident of Florence who will share some the
secrets of this old palace with you.

Day 5 – Travel to Venice
aboard the High-Speed Eurostar
Venice is a city of islands where the roads are paved with water. Marvel at
massive St. Mark’s Square and explore the beautiful Basilica di San Marco. Tour
the Doges’ Palace and learn why a small bridge high above a canal is called the
Bridge of Sighs. Ride in a gondola and travel through the canals as the
Venetians have done for centuries. Sample some gelato, served warmer than
traditional ice cream.

Day 6 – Experience Venice
Your Way
If there is any city in Europe that is perfect for just wandering, seeing and
experiencing, it is Venice. Follow the small, cobbled streets and alleyways to
see where they lead; visit a museum or just feed the pigeons in Saint Mark’s
Square. Join us for a farewell dinner tonight as our Italy tour ends.

Day 7 – Journey Home
Tour ends: Venice’s Marco Polo Airport 2 ½ hours
before the departure of our selected flight(s). Arrivederci! If you did
throw that coin into Trevi Fountain, legend has it that you will return to
L’Italia Bella again someday.

Need to Know
Tour prices are per person in U.S. dollars.
Hotels – All hotel accommodations are
included. Two-bedded rooms with private bath are reserved in most hotels.
Quadruples and triples are usually a two-bedded room plus one rollaway cot,
where available, and are not recommended for comfort. Quadruple accommodations
are available only on select itineraries. On some itineraries, rollaway cots may
not be available and triple and quadruple accommodations must make use of
existing bedding. At some properties in Europe where rooms and beds are small, a
triple may be accommodated in a single and double-bedded room. Connecting and
adjacent rooms are by request only and are not guaranteed. For safety and
security purposes, at time of booking, room accommodations for children under 18
years of age must be made in the same room as an accompanying adult.
Child/Adult Pricing
Children under 18 must be booked in a room with at least one adult. Quadruple
accommodations are not available for four persons 18 and older. To qualify for a
child discount, the child’s birth date must be provided at time of booking.
Meals – Most meals are included as
specified in the itinerary. Meal codes are: B=Breakfast, L=Lunch, D=Dinner.
Transportation – All motor coach and rail
transportation within the tour are included.
Gratuities Included – All necessary
gratuities for luggage handling, bellmen, doormen, dining room servers,
housekeepers, local guides, rail crew, drivers and Tauck Directors are included.
Tauck Director – Each of our Italy tours
is conducted by a Tauck Director who remains with the group throughout the
duration of the tour. Your Tauck Director is a professional, fully-trained
employee of Tauck.
No Options Sold – With the exception of
select options detailed in the itinerary, Tauck’s price includes entertainment,
special dinners, sightseeing and most activities. Tauck Directors sometimes
assist with information on other free-time activities, but will not sell you any
“extras.”
Airfare to the tour departure point and from the
tour ending point is not included. Airfare may be purchased from Tauck
for travel originating in the United States.
Hotel Rooms Before or After Tours – Due
to time schedules and the possibility of flight delays, many guests on our Italy
tours prefer to make hotel arrangements for the night preceding their tour. As a
service, Tauck will make reservations before or after your tour upon request.
Reservations are on a space available basis and must be booked through Tauck;
charges will be added to your tour cost. Note: Airport transfers are not
included for these bookings. When traveling with children, ensuring that
everyone is well rested at the beginning of any journey adds immeasurably to the
joy of the trip. We recommend that you arrive in Rome the before the starts. We
will be happy to make hotel reservations for your family.
Personal Expenses such as phone calls,
room service, alcoholic and bar beverages, mineral waters, soft drinks, laundry,
airline excess luggage charges and other optional incidental extras are not
included and may be significant.
Luggage Responsibility – Although every
effort is made to handle guests’ luggage carefully, we cannot be responsible,
assume liability or accept claims for loss or damage to luggage and personal
effects due to breakage, theft, or fair wear and tear through hotel, airline or
group carrier handling. It is important for your own self-interest and
protection that you make certain you have adequate insurance to cover these
