We offer four core private itineraries that offer a deeper look at the events, the history and the rich artistic heritage of each of these areas of interest.
1. The Ancient City: The Colosseum, the Roman Forum, Palatine Hill, etc.
Tour: Rome Through the Eyes of Julius Caesar- This tour is a journey through ancient Rome, covering the Colosseum, Roman Forum and the Capitoline hill. This private tour serves as a window into the time when Rome was the center of the world and emperors ruled the land.
DURATION: 3 hours.
Tour: The Ancient City and Palatine Hill- This tour ventures even further into the past of the Roman Empire, covering the vast ruins of the ancient community that once sat above the Forum on the Palatine Hill. In addition to the Colosseum and Forum, this tour allows for an in depth exploration of the place where Rome was born, a fascinating glimpse into the public center and private lives of Ancient Rome.
DURATION: 5 hours.
Tour: The Capitoline Museums: In the Times of Men and Gods: This new tour is designed to complement our Forum, Colosseum, and Palatine Hill tours, offering a complete view of the ancient city through artistic depictions of the people and myths that shaped Rome. The museums hold such works as the oldest bronze equestrian statue from ancient Rome, the colossal head of Constantine, the mosaic of the “Drinking Doves,” paintings by Caravaggio, and the famous “She Wolf” symbol of the capitol.
DURATION: 2 HOURS. (This tour can be added to any other itinerary as well)
2. Baroque and Renaissance Rome- Beautiful piazzas and fountains such as Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, and the Spanish Steps.
Tour: The Stroll of the Artists: Renaissance and Baroque Rome: This tour celebrates the period in Rome when great artists such as Michelangelo, Bernini and Borromini sculpted the city into their visions of beauty, spirituality and grandeur. Our twilight stroll will take your clients to the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, Piazza Campidoglio, and the Pantheon, among other places.
DURATION: 3 hours.
3. St. Peter's Basilica and The Vatican- Including the Sistine Chapel, rooms and halls of the museums and the square and inside of St. Peter's Basilica.
Tour: Vatican Museums and St. Peter's Basilica: Centuries of religious history, architectural treasures and some of the world's greatest works of art by such visionary artists as Michelangelo and Raphael lie within the Vatican walls, and our guides can give your clients an insider's view of their significance, heritage and meaning. This tour covers the famous square of St. Peter's, the Sistine Chapel and the various halls and galleries in the Vatican Museums. This tour includes a lunch break in addition to the touring time.

Longer Itineraries- One and Two-Day Tours:
We also offer more in-depth itineraries that delve deeper into the history and wonder of the above locations, allowing your clients to explore other sights of the city as well. These tours are perfect for those who desire a closer look at the city's "must-see" attractions or a broader view of the overall city.
-Immersion in Rome: This two-day private tour is a very popular and often-requested way to fully experience various areas of the city and to explore different themes such as religion, the ancient city, and art and architecture. In addition to the must-see sights, this tour also covers the Campidoglio, Palatine Hill, Castel Sant'Angelo and the charming and characteristic neighborhood of Trastevere. Our guide will introduce your clients to the history and art of the city while exploring its beauty, its famous areas and its secret corners. Both days include breaks for lunch, etc.
DURATION: 7 hours/day.
-Essence of Rome (advised for cruise passengers): This one-day private walking tour is a wonderful way to experience all of the city's main attractions. Inside the Vatican and Sistine Chapel, they will be overwhelmed by the awe inspiring creations of Michelangelo and other masters. Your clients will explore the ruins of the largest ancient empire as our guide takes them inside the Colosseum and the ancient Roman Forum, bringing to life the sights and sounds that filled them more than two millennia ago. We end the day with a twilight tour around such splendid sights as Trevi Fountain and a Bernini masterpiece, the "Four Rivers" fountain in Piazza Navona. The day includes breaks for lunch, etc.

One-Day Itineraries for Cruise Passengers:
We offer
several itineraries especially for cruise passengers- experiences designed to
offer all the best of Rome and her surrounding areas through full-day shore
excursions. Each of our itineraries begin with a private luxury car waiting for
your clients as them disembark at the Port of Civitavecchia, which will return
them there at the end of the day to board their departing cruise ship.
Civitavecchia-Rome: Our
private car will take your clients to the heart of Rome where they will meet
their personal guide for a day of touring the essential sights of the Eternal
City. In normal traffic, the journey takes approximately one hour and 15
minutes. Once in Rome, they may choose from among our many private itineraries
that offer in-depth looks at the various artistic and historical treasures in
the city, or allow us to customize a special day of touring for that meets their
particular needs and interests. We recommend our “Essence of Rome” tour
described above as the perfect way to explore the major sights before returning
to their cruise ship in the evening.
- New! Civitavecchia -Ostia: Just outside of Rome and along the coast of the Tyrrhenian sea lies the ancient port city of Ostia Antica. A private luxury car will pick your clients up from the port of Civitavecchia and take them on the roughly hour and a half journey to this beautiful archaeological park that holds many secrets of early Roman civilization and is a perfect way for those already familiar with Rome to spend their day away from their cruise ship.

Thematic Itineraries in Rome:

Angels and Demons: Secrets and Symbolism: Best-selling author Dan Brown offered only a glimpse in his books Angels and Demons and the Da Vinci Code into the clandestine symbolism hidden in some of the most well-known works of art and architecture. This special tour is based on themes from these popular books, following a path laid by the intrigues, scandals and deceits of some of the greatest artists and most powerful popes of the Renaissance and Baroque periods.

From rooftops, terraces and hilltops, we will regard the beauty of Rome from on high- it’s infinite cupolas clinging to the sky, the curves of the river and the trees that surround them, and the angels that watch over the city. Our guide will recount the history and legends of the various sights we will see from the splendid terraces of hotels and museums throughout Rome.

-Borghese Gallery: The Never-ending Experience of Art: A great journey into art history to discover and to appreciate the absolute masterpieces of various epochs, as well as the opportunity to know the artists and the powerful patrons that contributed to their fame. In the splendid setting of Villa Borghese , we will see works by Caravaggio, Raphael, Bernini and more.
DURATION: 3 Hours.
-Feast of Bacchus: Wine Tasting Tour: World renown for its vino, Italy offers the wine enthusiast a bountiful selection of bold, sweet and savory choices from every region. This is a 3.5-hour tour for the taste buds- for discerning palates and vino novices- as we navigate Rome’s historic center and sample some of the best wines on offer at select enoteche (wine bars) and restaurants.
DURATION: 3.5 hours. Price includes 4 glasses of wine per person, antipasti platters (cheese, meats, etc.), and a pasta meal.
-The Seven Hills of Rome by Car: This itinerary offers your clients a chauffeur-driven tour through the areas where Rome's foundations were first laid- upon her seven hills- and the treasures that each of the neighborhoods hold. Sights include the Colosseum, Forum, Pantheon, Campo dei Fiori, Piazza Venezia, St. Peter's Square, and Piazza Navona. From the hilltops of Aventino and Janiculum, your clients will enjoy a breathtaking vista of the expanse of Rome stretching out beneath them. Rather than in depth exploration, this tour is designed to appreciate the various locations during brief stops out of the car. This tour is perfect for those unable to walk throughout a tour.

- Behind the Walls: Faith and Community in the Jewish Ghetto: We will tour the oldest Jewish community in Europe, appreciating the legacy of the first Jewish merchants who traversed the Tiber into ancient Rome, the remnants of the communities they built, and the rich heritage of a neighbourhood that has been a center of faith and worship since the Middle Ages. The tour covers the Jewish Ghetto, Tiber Island and Trastevere.
DURATION: 3 hours.
-Early Christianity and Catacombs: This tour is perfect for those who would like to focus on the two millennia of Christian heritage in the city of the religion's birth. Our expert guide will spend the day sharing with them the many stories and legends of miracles and martyrs locked within the underground excavations at the Basilica of San Clemente, the chapels of San Giovanni in Laterano, as well as in the catacombs near the ancient road of Via Appia. (This itinerary can also be included in the Immersion 2-day tour as a substitute for Castel Sant'Angelo).

- The Eternal Spring: Underneath the Trevi Fountain: This unique tour is a voyage through the underground aqueducts that have fed the city’s most famous fountain since 1762, and coursed beneath the city since 19 A.D. We will tour the recently opened excavations showing the remarkably intact conduits originally built to supply water to ancient Rome, appreciating the important link between the history of this aqueduct and the history of the city.

We will also hit lesser-known (and often less expensive) street markets where antique dealers display their wares in beautiful piazzas throughout the city.

-Excursion to the Outlets: This day-trip goes about 45 minutes outside of Rome for a day of bargain hunting at the Designer Outlets at Castel Romano. Here we will find such discount designer stores as Bruno Magli, Dolce & Gabbana, Etro, Frette, La Perla, Ferragamo and Versace- there are more than 95 stores in all. This is an unguided tour, as we are sure that with money in hand and 75% off designer labels in sight your clients will know what to do on their own!

-Tivoli: Hadrian's Villa and Villa d'Este: This tour allows the opportunity to see some of the great beauty that lies outside of Rome. Our guide will resurrect the grandeur of Roman society that flourished under Hadrian's rule and reveal the history and wonder of Hadrian's Villa and the Villa d'Este. Lunch is taken in the charming La Sibilla restaurant. Our day trip to Tivoli leaves from Rome by private car in the morning and returns to the city in the evening. -Ostia Antica: We will spend time exploring the secrets of this ancient Roman port city which lies only a half hour by train from the center of Rome. -Pompeii: This private tour is a dramatic and fascinating look at an ancient and enigmatic culture, and your guide will bring alive for you the tragic stories and curious myths which it left behind. Our day trip to Pompeii leaves Rome in the morning by private car and returns to the city in the early evening.

Each of our private tours begins with our guide meeting clients in the lobby of their hotel at a time of their choosing. Tour prices do not include admission tickets or transportation such as taxis or buses. All of our private tours can be tailored to meet the specific needs and interests of our clients. If there are particular sights they would like included in their tours, or should you wish to design your own tour with us, we can certainly accommodate and assist you in crafting your days in Rome. We also pace our tours according to the wishes of the client, stopping for breaks or to spend more time at a particular location whenever they like.
