A great vacation of walking, wine tasting, and sightseeing awaits you in Piemonte, one of the most enchanting regions of Italy. In the heart of the scenic landscapes of the Langhe, one of the major wine producing areas of Piemonte, you'll walk through vineyards from one medieval hill town to another, visit centuries-old fortresses, and enter elegant world-class wineries to sample the wonderful products of the vine, the yield of grapes harvested from vines "as old as the stones." (Barolo and Barbera are among our favorites!)

As you travel, the snowy peaks of the Alps form a stunning backdrop to the Langhe's peaceful, gentle settings. This land is a stronghold of hills forged by primeval oceans into a promised land of nature's wonder, rhapsodized by great Italian poets for its castles and vineyards. The Langhe hills present sweet, varied scenery and a precious world of flavors and scents. Ancient medieval villages on the crest of the hills each have their own castle or tower, testifying to a long history and a roll call of legends.

The trip includes sightseeing in the city of Turin, with its sumptuous palaces and masterpieces of the Piedmontese Baroque. Outstanding cuisine and first-class hotels top off each thrilling day.
