Luxury and seclusion on an exclusive tropical island
Peter Island offers a unique Caribbean recipe for pampered seclusion, deserted beaches, sumptuous bedroom suites overlooking the sea, day sails to neighboring islands, varied watersports, excellent food and wine, and an atmosphere of calm which some say is unrivalled.
Peter Island lies three and a half miles south of Tortola, between Norman Island and Dead Chest Island, and is reached in twenty-five minutes by private launch from Road Town. The hotel centre is separate from the fifty-two Bay View and Beach View rooms, and offers a restaurant and bar, beach bar and grill, four tennis courts, swimming pool, sailing and scuba diving facilities.
Guests at Peter Island are brought
ashore from the resort's 55-foot luxury yacht to begin their stay at this
first-class resort. Ocean view rooms over look the harbor and freshwater pool,
and features lovely decks or patios. Beach rooms have terraces or balconies
steps
from the azure sea. And the hilltop Crow's Nest Villa is the ultimate hideaway.
The serenity of Peter island is balanced by a
full range of sports and activities. Enjoy world-class scuba diving, tennis,
sailing, water sports and ten miles island trails, bike riding and hiking.
Dining can be casual in the beachfront restaurant, or formal in the main
house.
This private island has many nature trails for discovering exotic plants and sleepy iguanas en route to five sandy beaches. The only traffic on Peter Island consists of the few hotel ‘buggies’ which are available to guests of the hotel villas, Crow’s Nest and Hawk’s Nest, and to pick up weary walkers from the more secluded beaches.
The Crow’s Nest is a luxurious villa for up to
eight people with a private swimming pool and opulent furnishing. The villa is
atop a hill, a few minutes ‘buggy’ drive from the hotel facilities, and enjoys
spectacular views over nearby islands. Hawk’s Nest consists of three villas for
up to four people, again providing luxury and privacy. These villas are serviced
by two maids and a cook, but guests are able to use all the facilities of the
hotel.
